Party Soon! (Online of course)

Virtual Holiday Party Activites 2020 has been a very long and hectic year, especially in these “unprecedented times” (be honest, how many times have you seen this phrase going around?). 2020 will probably be the year where we would give our festive gatherings a miss, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t celebrate the holidays to the best we can! If there was one skill that we have picked up during this pandemic, it is that we are definitely very familiar with online meeting applications, like Skype, Zoom and Google Hangouts. Most of our day to day meetings, lectures and even gatherings have moved online and it has become the new normal way of communication between large groups of people. With that in mind, the team at Euni.Co has come up with a few virtual activities that you can host and take part in with your loved ones to spread the festive spirit with everyone!

1) Virtual Bake-offs! We all know the amazing scent of pastries and desserts baking in the oven. The wait for cookies to be done baking can feel especially long with the delicious fumes of chocolate chip filling the kitchen but the payoff is definitely worth it the wait; and the calories.

A Virtual bake-off is definitely a way to fulfil that festive craving. Everyone can draw lots on who to bake for! All of you set a time to meet on zoom, and share recipes on what they baked present to the whole group of the final product! While there is no element of smell, the sight of freshly baked brownies, cookies, pies, whatever you can think off, will definitely trigger some cravings amongst you. After the whole session, arrange a delivery and send them over to your selected recipient and share the love on social media! Who knows, you might even discover your secret talent and start a home based business together! 2) Social Deduction Games Gaming is definitely one the activities that saw an increase in activity, since we’re spending so much time at home than usual. And an amazing genre of games that you can spend hours and hours on is Social Deduction. The rules are simple: Work as a team to single out a “bad guy” in the game while still keeping your identities a secret. Some very popular Social Deduction games include Werewolf, Mafia and Secret Hitler. There also tonnes of Youtube channels who’ve been streaming their games online so take a look at Youtube for some ideas and strategies on how to win in these games. Warning, these games might or might not destroy friendships.

3) Your own version of Singapore Idol I don’t know about you but, one of the things that I miss the most during this pandemic is, KARAOKE. Karaoke has always been a popular choice when it comes to festive gatherings. Nothing says Happy Holidays then having Mariah Carey’s All I want For Christmas playing loudly in the background while you and your friends and family all do your best Mariah impersonation.

Take turns in giving your best interpretation of song and vote for your winner! What’s the worst that can happen? Simon Cowell is not going to be there to judge you anyways! 4) A simple virtual dinner Sometimes, we have to take a step back and be grateful for all the people who’ve been there for us in these hard times. While it’s not possible to call up our favourite restaurants and book a reservation for 10 at the moment, we can always have dinner together through Zoom, and just be there for each other while we enjoy our food in our own homes.

Many of us have faced adversities and challenges on a large scale this year, and our friends and families have been many of our pillars of support. We made it this far with their help, so always remember to treasure every moment we have with them, be it physical or online.

So there you have it, there’s some interesting activities you can incorporate into this year’s holiday celebrations with your friends and family! Stay tuned for more virtual celebration ideas!
